About the Event
"God has led me into darkness, shutting out all light." Lamentations 3:2
On this longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere, we gather for an hour of guided reflection on the God who dwells in darkness, who calls it good, and who leads us into darkness to find the Divine there.
Using poetry, prayer, music and our own immediate experience of the dark, we will explore the gift of darkness, as fertile soil, as a womb in which Christ is being born is us.
Without disowning the powerful metaphor of light, we will use this hour together to embrace an understanding of darkness that moves beyond dualism and allows us to glimpse something vital and life-giving in the shadows.
This short guided retreat, just a few days before Christmas, it intended to be a place of deep rest, release and authenticity. You are welcome, whether you would describe…
