All Saints Workbook

All Saints Workbook

The day after Halloween is All Saints Day, when the Church traditionally remembers and honours all those who have gone before us, particularly those who have died in the past year. In a society that rarely knows how to grieve well, having a day to pause again and remember is so significant.

It's also a chance to honour those who have crossed over, for all they have meant to us. And there is an invitation there too, to recall that we are also part of that Cloud of Witnesses. Henri Nouwen writes: "My deepest vocation is to be a witness to the glimpses of God I have been allowed to catch."

This workbook invites you to engage with the feasts of All Saints and All Souls (celebrated on 1st and 2nd November), to help you meditate on what it means to be a saint - a holy one - and how we receive and honour the gifts of those who have gone before us, both those known to only us and the more "official" Saints.

It includes six pages of thoughts and meditations on Holiness, Desire and what it means to be part of that great cloud of witnesses.

This Halloween, All Saints Day, and in the month to come,
may you glimpse God breaking through your right-here-right-now,
and may you bear witness to those glimpses
as you live out your desires as a holy-one of God.
